Lavander field Nostalgia

No it is not the season of fields of lavender bloom … I know, I know, we will have to wait Next June at least to see again this beauty in Provence - France.

That’s why I felt nostalgic those last days…

And as any strong feeling, at the end, you can always find something positive in.

For me, it was definitively the color, I started to be obsess by working with lavender material and try to get the most of shades I could in one creation.

That’s why I choose abaca silk and sisal.

This material is a blend of silk and abaca fibre, perfect for sculpturing hats. Its unique sheen and vibrant color comes from the blend of fine silk woven through stiff banana palm fibres.

Abaca fibre is three times stronger than cotton or silk, and is extremely long-lasting. It is woven from the processed stalks of the abaca tree, a banana palm native to the Philippines. Because it is a natural fibre, it holds color beautifully.

And in searching inspiration, I discovered that I was not the only one absolutely in love with Lavender :-)
